Why a blog?
The Era of Free Resources: There was a time when the primary way to disseminate ideas and thoughts to a large and varied audience was through the printed word. If you had a grand plan for growing a church, the only way to share this with fellow laborers on a large scale was by publishing a book. When you published this book, you had to sell it in order to recoup the costs of publishing. If the book sold well, you not only recovered your costs, but you also made a profit, and possibly made yourself a name.
In the arena of a free internet, Pentecostal authors should re-evaluate the reason for publishing a book. If our sole objective is to grow the Kingdom of God, then there is little need to endure the costs of actual printing. We need only to submit our works to the thoughtful process of editing and peer review, and then issue those works free via the internet. In this way, monies spent on printing can now be spent on other Kingdom priorities; and the Kingdom of God can be benefited on a greater scale via the internet than it would as a paper work.
“If our sole objective is to grow the Kingdom of God,” . . . then share our “works free via the internet.” Well stated! I share your views on the era of free resources. Enjoy reading your blog. Keep up the great work.
